ATV Jordan Installs Ross Synergy Switchers

ATV Jordan, the first independent broadcast channel in Jordan, has installed three Ross Synergy 3 SD digital production switchers in two new large production studios and a smaller news studio.

U.K.-based systems integrator dB Broadcast was awarded the project to build the new TV station in February 2005. dB Broadcast is responsible for the full technical infrastructure of the station and is providing support to both the architects and builders. The two companies said the connection was made at NAB2005, where the consultant for ATV Jordan and dB received multiple switcher demonstrations from vendors and selected Synergy.

Synergy 3 SD is an advanced and flexible digital production switcher that features a complete control panel, 24 serial digital inputs, three multilevel effects systems (MLE), 11 RU chassis, and 100-event memory system.

"The Synergy switchers are easy to configure and install and we were impressed with the support provided from both Ross U.K. and head offices," said Tom Swan, sales and marketing director for dB Broadcast. "The switchers offered the latest technology and a lot of features at an effective price point and are ideal for live productions."

The switchers are being installed at the ATV station in Amman, capital of Jordan.
