AP signs agreement to track worldwide use of its broadcast content

The Associated Press (AP) has signed an agreement with Teletrax to monitor the use of its broadcast content, the media monitoring company said this week.

AP will use a suite of Teletrax video monitoring and reporting services to track worldwide broadcast usage of its video news content in real time on a story-specific basis. The Teletrax service is being used to track licensed and unlicensed use of the news organization’s content.

Teletrax’s technology embeds an imperceptible and indelible digital watermark into video whenever it is edited, transmitted, broadcast or duplicated. A global network of detectors then captures all occurrences of the embedded video being transmitted and generates tracking reports for the content owners.
