ABC uses Nucomm equipment for Election Day coverage
By TVTechnology published
Microwave transmitter and receiver provider 3G Wireless is providing the ABC network with microwave equipment from Nucomm, a brand of The Vitec Group, for coverage the day before, after and during Election Day.
The network is employing four of Nucomm’s 7GHz CamPac 2 wireless camera transmitters, one 2GHz CamPac 2 and five Newscaster DR diversity receivers. The broadcast will be televised live from New York City’s ABC “World News” and “Good Morning America” studios. A crew is also using Nucomm products for interviews live from Times Square.
According to Adam Nepp, 3G Wireless marketing director, the CamPac 2 is the ideal system for working in a place like New York City because it allows for the use of multiple frequencies in a harsh RF environment.
