New telecine bay provides An-Mar producers more coloring capabilities
Athens, Greece-based station An-Mar has installed a new HD telecine bay to upgrade its image processing capability. The company expects the new telecine bay to keep up with Greek producers’ desire to move from 35mm film to 16mm film acquisition for commercial production.
The new telecine bay features da Vinci’s 2K Plus suite with PowerTiers and DeFocus Plus for film processing, commercial color grading and other post-production projects. An-Mar had been using da Vinci’s Renaissance 8:8:8 since 1999. DeFocus Plus, which is frequently used in commercial projects to create or adjust the lighting within a scene or on a particular image, allows colorists to achieve an artistic look on the film while maintaining finer granularity.
In addition, the 2K’s PowerTier supports two additional channels of image processing, providing An-Mar artists with multiple PowerWindows for additional layers of color enhancement capabilities.
DeFocus Plus has been adopted by many of An-Mar’s clients. An-Mar has already used the 2K Plus on several TV spots for Vodafone, Eurobank, HSBC and a summer campaign against AIDS sponsored by the Ministry of Health.
