FOX Sports polishes MLB All-Star Game production

FOX Sports used four pencil eraser-sized cameras embedded in the field at strategic positions to provide a unique angle on game action for its coverage of this year’s Major League Baseball All-Star Game July 12 at Comerica Park in Detroit.

Two Fox Diamond Cams were buried in fair territory facing home plate. One subterranean camera was positioned at the forward edge of the pitcher’s mound pointed up at the pitcher. A fourth was placed in a new location at the lip of the grass in fair territory facing first base.

The network debuted its embedded cameras during last year’s All-Star Game in Houston.

FOX Sports used 23 cameras and 70 microphones for its coverage of the 76th All-Star Game.
