Crispin NewsWheel stretches existing news production for multicasting

The Crispin NewsWheel is intended to let broadcasters with existing news productions add additional DTV programming streams with little investment.

The system offers complete control over on-air programming and provides support for live news, weather cut-ins, commercial breaks and other custom events. NewsWheel executes multiple active rundowns, as entered by a producer through a newsroom computer system (NCS).

The solution, while working seamlessly with an NCS, switches to studio output to support live news cut-ins and triggers master control automation to roll commercial breaks. It interfaces to NCS through MOS, serial and FTP methods.
