Cornice launches world’s smallest hard drive

Cornice, a provider of hard drive storage products, has introduced 8GB and 10GB hard drives the size of a matchbook. This product reduces the size of its latest generation hard drives by 40 percent.

The new drives will allow electronics manufacturers to make smaller digital music players, video-equipped handhelds and cell phones that come equipped with more memory.

Hard drive manufacturers are in a race with makers of flash memory technology to fit more data storage capacity into ever smaller devices.
