Sound Image to put 10 million watts of Crown amps on the road

Southern California-based Sound Image has agreed to purchase more than 800 of the new Crown I-Tech HD amplifiers for its tour sound business. Sound Image’s touring division is one of the nation’s largest live sound providers, serving such major artists such as Rascal Flatts, Jimmy Buffett, Eric Clapton and Taylor Swift, among others.

Crown’s I-Tech HD amps feature a new user-inspired DSP engine called OmniDriveHD, co-developed with Harman sister company BSS. The processing engine features linear-phase FIR filters for better crossover performance and tunings. OmniDriveHD also features a new suite of limiters, called LevelMax, that extract higher SPL out of existing loudspeakers with better protection and minimal sonic degradation. Harman’s HiQnet System Architect uses a Web-style navigation interface for intuitive access to configuration and control functions.
