NEUTRIK USA HELPS NEWMEDIAGEAR.COM UPGRADE TO HD VIDEO PODCASTS WITH PRODUCT DONATION

ORLANDO, FL – After three years and more than 300 audio broadcasts, NewMediaGear.com, producer of gear-related weekly audio Podcasts, is integrating HD video production along with its audio Podcasts, for a mix of rich media content development and distribution. Neutrik USA has donated several products to ease the company’s transition to HD video.

“Video gives us a tremendous advantage because now we are able to show products in great detail,” says Mark Jensen, General Manager and Host of NewMediaGear.com. “When we decided to make the transition to HD, Neutrik was the natural choice, as they contributed to the audio connectivity of Studio1A a few years back. Since then we have branded Studio1A as a Neutrik-only studio.”

NewMediaGear.com was looking for a broadcast patch panel solution that would allow it to patch between its FM broadcast processor, video camera audio and audio-only interfaces. Neutrik provided the solution with its ‘Easy Patch’ Patch Panel, featuring 2 x 48 TT (Bantam) jacks, a half normalled bottom row and 288 push terminals (NPPA-TT-PT). The company also supplied several of its connector products to NewMediaGear.com including [6] Reversible USB Gender Changers (NAUSB-B); [6] Hinged covers for D-size chassis connectors SCDX; 12 X-Series, 3 pole 1/4" professional phone plugs (NP3X); 6 - 3.5 mm Tiny Plug, 3 pole 3.5 mm audio plugs (NTP3RC); [12] 3 pole female DLX Series receptacles (-NC3FD-LX-B), and [12] 3 pole male DLX Series receptacles (NC3MD-LX-B).

To help illustrate why Neutrik is one of its top choices for connectivity solutions, NewMediaGear.com will create an HD Neutrik video, demonstrating a real-world professional solution utilizing Neutrik products that will be featured on its national syndication. The program will also highlight Neutrik’s commitment to manufacturing quality connector products; the need for patching, even in the digital age, along with the differences between bantam, standard and ganged connections.

“Neutrik is more than willing to help Mark as his company evolves,” says Fred Besnoff, product applications manager at Neutrik USA. “NewMediaGear covers matters that are critical to Neutrik’s users and the entire audio broadcast industry as a whole. The show’s live equipment reviews provide listeners and potential end users with excellent insight on audio products. We look forward to seeing the Neutrik video they are currently working on”

Not your run-of-the-mill production space, Studio 1A is treated with Auralex AudioTile sound reinforcement and an impressive list of gear from many of the industry’s leading professional audio manufacturers, including Aphex 230 Master Voice strips and 2020MkIII FM Broadcast Processor, AudioArts R-55 Radio On-Air Console, Dorrough loudness meters and Symetrix AirTools 6200 2-channel voice strip. The Broadcast Studio is equipped with Sony AW Series Desktop Replacements running Adobe CS4 Suites, Audition 3.0 and Sony Sound Forge. HD video is being integrated with Panasonic HVX-200A solid-state P2 video cameras and Apple Mac Pro machines running Final Cut Studio as a non-linear video editor. A Tascam DV-RA1000, Marantz PMD-560 and Alesis Masterlink are used for audio mastering along with a Telos One digital hybrid for telephone interviews and Barix encoder for real-time streaming. A host of microphones are used on-air, including Electro-Voice, Rode and Sennheisers.

NewMediaGear.com is a wholly owned subsidiary of Studio1AProductions, LLC. Mark Titterington (or Jensen as he is known in broadcast and voiceover circles) started the company as PodSqod, a Podcast that showcased broadcast products and techniques. The name has changed to NewMediaGear, but the format remains the same. The company has grown to include the next generation of media including podcasting, streaming, netcasting, satellite radio and tube stations. NewMediaGear is all about the gear, techniques and tips of the pros that help make your New Media enterprise look and sound great.
