Video Technics Certifies agami Systems Unified Network Attached Storage

Atlanta, GA (April 10, 2008) - Video Technics, Inc. (VT) today announced that it has certified agami Systems‘ AIS3000 and AIS6000 series unified network storage platforms for inclusion in its affordable high-bandwidth HD workflow solutions. agmi‘s NAS systems provide bandwidth throughput and continuous data availability up to a record-breaking 1 GB/s (AIS6000), multiple Ethernet ports, RAID-5ES protection, live file system replication, and feature-packed software management tools in a package with superior space density which requires less power and cooling to create a truly best-of-class storage solution.

RAID-5 ES - Enterprise Sparing - dramatically improves rebuild time performance in case of drive failure by spreading parity and spare disk space across all drives. The multiple native Gigabit Ethernet ports provide the flexibility to configure dedicated or aggregated ports to better manage bandwidth access limits per Host. agmi‘s feature-packed web software management tools provide sophisticated system monitoring, live file system replication, and more.

“We believe agmi to be "best-of-class" for unified NAS/IP-SAN storage and the best value when incorporated with our cost-effective, end-to-end systems,” stated Mark Rivers, CEO of Video Technics, Inc. “ agmi provides a rich feature set and over five times the aggregate bandwidth throughput as other "high-end" NAS systems and three to five times more than IP-SAN systems on the market today. We found the AIS3000 and AIS6000 series to be excellent choices as shared storage for high-definition media workflow.”

Video Technics has a true "open architecture" approach to media storage by allowing most any direct attached, SAN, or NAS storage device to be incorporated as a VT Media Location. The VT SQL database engine seamlessly tracks media assets across multiple Media Locations as a single logical volume of storage. These Media Locations are classified as Nearline or Online depending on their sustainable bandwidth throughput characteristics. The agami product line has been tested with streaming HD content with Video Technics video servers and nonlinear editors.

Video Technics will be showcasing agami storage together with the new Apella NewsFlow HDX bundle for end-to-end high-definition workflow at NAB 2008 Booth SU9227.
