WNBA to Get Blanket HD Coverage
By TVTechnology published
NBA fans still have their male basketball playoffs to savor this spring, but soon it will be the ladies’ turn and the TV match-up of ESPN2 cable and ABC broadcast will provide all their coverage of the WBNA entirely in HD this season for the first time.
Starting June 6, Walt Disney Co. said every regular WNBA contest it carries—as well as all its post-season games—will be aired either on the ABC broadcast network or on ESPN2 in 720p (and possibly in some cases, simulcast on both).
Also, the women’s league will enjoy more international coverage than usual this summer with its games also be streamed on ESPN360.com (not in HD), and both ESPN Australia HD and ESPN Brazil HD.
