Six television stations have been fined a total of $65,000 by the FCC for violations involving children's television programming. The violations mostly involve report failures and breaking rules on commercial limits during children's programming.
KGWB-TV of Burlington, IA, was fined $17,500 for failing to file records involving children's programming for public inspection and for airing an inappropriate commercial during a children's program. KAZH-TV, Baytown, TX, and KWBZ-TV, Wolfforth, TX, were each fined $14,000 for repeated records violations.
Fines of $8000 each were issued to KDAF-TV, Dallas, and KFWD-TV and KFWD-TV, both of Fort Worth, TX. KNAZ-TV of Flagstaff, AZ, was fined $3500.
As part of their filings for license renewal, all the stations volunteered the information that led to the fines.
