Senate Commerce Committee Diverges on Pai Portrait

WASHINGTON—The beginning of FCC Chairman Ajit Pai’s tenure is wildly different depending who you ask on the Senate Commerce Committee. In the opening statements of the Committee’s FCC oversight hearing Chairman John Thune (R-S.D.) praised Pai’s early actions, citing his moves to make the agency more transparent and some rollbacks on regulations passed by his predecessors. However, ranking member Bill Nelson (D-Fla.) was less impressed with what Pai has done in his first few weeks.
