New NEP Supershooters HD truck makes maiden voyage at U.S. Open

NEP Broadcasting was the primary supplier of TV production technology to broadcasters delivering global coverage of the 107th U.S. Open from Oakmont Country Club in Pittsburgh last week.

NBC and ESPN coverage of the event was captured by NEP Supershooters' ND4, its newest HD truck. Coverage of the U.S. Open was the ND4’s maiden voyage — only 2mi from where the unit was designed and built.

Outfitted with a virtual monitor wall within a spacious control room and furnished with a Thomson Grass Valley Kalypso switcher, Calrec Alpha audio console, Sony HDC1500 cameras and several EVS LSMs, the new ND4 joined NEP Supershooters' fleet of mobile trucks at the U.S. Open to form a massive broadcast compound.

For this year's Open Championship, NEP supplied more than $50 million worth of equipment and hardware to leading TV networks from around the globe, which, in addition to NBC and ESPN, included The Golf Channel, Sky Sports, TV Asahi and the USGA world feed.
