NAB Requests Recall of Illegal FM Modulator Devices
By TVTechnology published
The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) sent a letter to FCC Chairman Kevin Martin urging the FCC to recall satellite radio devices that fail to comply with Part 15 rules.
As reported in a previous edition of RF Report, NAB found that 13 of the 17 devices it tested exceeded field strength limits set by the FCC, with six of those devices exceeding the limit by 2,000 percent. One device exceeded the limit by 20,000 percent. NAB also found the devices transmitter signals with substantially wider bandwidth than permitted by the FCC.
