Mobile TV services carry Obama inauguration live
By TVTechnology published
President Barack Obama's inauguration Tuesday was historic in many ways, including that it was the first U.S. presidential inauguration to be shown on mobile TV.
Verizon V CAST Mobile TV, AT&T Mobile TV and MobiTV all delivered live coverage to U.S. viewers from NBC News, MSNBC and other news networks. Mobile TV services as far away as New Zealand also offered viewers live coverage.
"Based on the large viewership increases we experienced for Election Night and the debates, the gravity of the occasion and general tune-in spikes for high-interest live programming, we anticipate quite a large audience for inauguration coverage,” said MobiTV CEO and Chairman Charlie Nooney.
