The U.S. House of Representatives last week rejected President Bush’s plan to eliminate a $420 million federal subsidy for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB).

Rep. Doug Lamborn, R-CO, attempted to kill CPB’s subsidies — about 15 percent of its budget.

The House voted to keep the funding, with a vote of 357-72.
