Hearst-Argyle Taps Harris for DTV Upgrades

Hearst-Argyle Television chose Harris Corp.'s Broadcast Communications Division to upgrade the digital transmission facilities at 25 of its television stations. Harris will supply Sigma CD DTV transmitters to 15 of the company's stations:
* KCCI-DT, Des Moines
* KQCA-DT, Sacramento
* KETV-DT, Omaha
* KCWE-DT, Kansas City
* KOAT-DT, Albuquerque
* WAPT-DT, Jackson, Miss.
* WDSU-DT, New Orleans
* WISN-DT, Milwaukee
* WLKY-DT, Louisville, Ky.
* WMOR-DT, Tampa
* WPBF-DT, West Palm Beach, Fla.
* WTAE-DT, Pittsburgh
* WXII-DT, Winston-Salem, N.C.
* WYFF-DT, Greenville, S.C.
* KOCT-DT, Albuquerque
Honolulu, Hawaii stations KHVO-DT and KITV-DT will receive DiamondCD UHF solid-state DTV transmitters, and Albuquerque, N.M. stations, KOVT-DT and KOFT-DT, have ordered Harris' PlatinumCD solid-state VHF DTV transmitters.
Additionally, Apex Digital Exciters and Flexicoder upgrades will be supplied to six stations.
