FCC to Discuss Earth Station Application Process

A few weeks ago in RF Report I mentioned that I noticed the number of satellite Earth station applications returned by the FCC's International Bureau seemed to be increasing. The FCC International Bureau apparently noticed this too and last week announced a public meeting to discuss policies and procedures related to the Earth Station Application process. The meeting will be held July 22, 2005 from 10:30 a.m. until noon in the FCC Meeting Room at 45 12th Street NW in Washington, D.C.

"The intent of this meeting is to provide satellite industry representatives, attorneys, and engineers, the opportunity to provide feedback on the current process and procedures for handling satellite earth station applications," according to the public notice. International Bureau staff will discuss topics including "Frequently Asked Questions," "Common Application Inconsistencies" and "Filing Online with IBFS."
