Nashville-based Shop At Home Network recently bought eight Ikegami HL-60W 16:9 switchable cameras. The network, with help from systems integrator Digital Systems Technology (DST) conducted tests to compare Ikegami's camera with Sony's E-10, Hitachi's Z300 and Thomson's 1707 SD cameras.
A second shoot-out was conducted at parent company EW Scripps' headquarters in Knoxville, where the decision was made to go with Ikegami. Mike Quinn, sales engineer at DST's Nashville office, says the camera was selected for its colorimetry and ability to accommodate varying lighting conditions on the set.
