Few people like going to the dentist, but soon patients will be treated to digital signage that will occupy their minds with entertainment and information before the dreaded journey to the dentist’s chair.
Implementation of a new private promotional and advertising network called the NobelVision Network is currently underway and will be installed in 200 dental offices by the end of 2007. With more than 160,000 practicing dentists in the United States, Nobel Biocare will focus on partnering with dentists in bringing this patient education/entertainment system to more than 1200 dental reception rooms by the end of 2008. Global expansion is planned thereafter.
Designed in consultation with Creative Marketing and Merchandising Media Solutions (c3ms), the NobelVision Network is a customized channel of dental healthcare information specifically designed to educate the patients of Nobel Biocare’s clients about their dental options. Educational, informational and entertainment segments are delivered via an IP-based, networked narrowcast system using the Real Digital Media (RDM) NEOCAST hardware and software platform. Presented on large flat-panel screens installed in dental offices, the NobelVision Network provides an opportunity for advertisers and content partners to market their products and services to a targeted, health-conscious audience with known demographic and statistical data.
Tapping c3ms for content creation and design, the system uses media players prominently positioned in dentists’ offices. Nobel Biocare also worked with c3ms to create entertainment, educational programming and advertising specifically targeted to the dental patient. The programming also includes real-time information, such as news in a ticker format, at the bottom of the system’s TV screen. Additionally, companies providing products and services directly to the practice will use the network for clinician training, communication and continuing education after hours.
