Canada: MTS TV Adds IPTV HD

MTS TV, one of four current IPTV providers in Canada, has become the first such firm to begin offering HD fare to its subscribers.
MTS TV now plans to provide HD tier subs with at least seven HD channels, including five U.S. outlets: CBC HD from Toronto (CBLT); ABC HD from Seattle (KOMO); CBS HD from Seattle (KIRO); Fox HD from Seattle (KCPQ); NBC HD from Seattle (KING); PBS HD from Seattle (KCTS); and Rogers Sportsnet HD.
MTS TV channel assignments:
51 - CBC HD (CBLT)
52 - ABC HD (KOMO)
53 - CBS HD (KIRO)
54 - Fox HD (KCPQ)
55 - NBC HD (KING)
56 - PBS HD (KCTS)
58 - Rogers Sportsnet HD
MTS TV is offering discounts for subs who bundle their IPTV service with Internet broadband and/or wireless telephony options. The other three Canadian IPTV firms are Aliant TV, Sasktel Max and Telus TV.
