BBC considers new program services for U.S. market

The BBC (British Broadcasting Corp.) is considering expansion of its program offerings in the United States. Under consideration are new HD and Hispanic program services, a top BBC executive said.
Darren Childs, managing director of the BBC’s global channels, cited an HD service as a top priority. As for a proposed Hispanic service, Childs said the BCC was aggressively pursuing initiatives in Miami to see if it was practical to launch a Hispanic service to the North American market.
