The Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) has approved its DTV Application Software Environment (DASE) Standard.
DASE builds on previous ATSC DTV Standards and will enable the implementation of enhanced and interactive services for DTV. Applications and data that use DASE are designed to run uniformly on all types of DTV receivers. Manufacturers will retain the flexibility to choose hardware platforms and operating systems for the receivers.
