The CBS News European Broadcast Center has tapped Quartz Electronics to upgrade its digital routing system in its new London headquarters.
CBS upgraded from a Quartz Q128 SDI router to a 16 RU Q256 SDI router. The new router is configured as 160x128 and can be expanded to 256x256. The Q56 will route satellite receivers, the server system, converters, production switchers, cameras and more. The Quartz SC-1000 system controller will manage the routing equipment.
The move from Knightsbridge to Chiswick Park in London should be complete by 2005.
