IBC2006: Miranda's Vertigo XG Graphics Processor

Miranda Technologies' new product lineup next month at IBC2006 in Amsterdam will include its Vertigo XG channel branding graphics processor, designed for HD and SD simulcasting (Stand 8.241).

The processor features dual independent HD-SD outputs and integral upconversion, downconversion and crossconversion within a single platform -- allowing programming to be format-converted and branded in SD and HD at 1080i or 720p. The Montreal-based company said its dual independent branding engines enable HD-SD outputs to remain free of typical aspect ratio compromises fairly common in current simulcast scenarios.

Miranda said its demo at the IBC, among other things, will include showing its processor simultaneously playing out multiple crawls, rolls and tickers, incorporating text and animations, clips and images, and using an unlimited number of layers and individually keyed elements.

For audio mix capabilities, the Vertigo XG will support 16 embedded and 8 discrete stereo channels.
