Rutgers iTV Studio uses XDCAM

Rutgers University has turned to Sony’s XDCAM to help serve news media requirements and in-house needs.

Rutgers University's in-house video production team is using Sony's XDCAM Professional Disc System for an array of services for the university and off-campus organizations in need of production support, such as local and national television outlets.

Rutgers iTV Studio is using Sony's optical disc-based technology, including the PDW-530 optical camcorder, PDW-1500 compact editing deck and the PDW-V1 player.

A key feature of the XDCAM system is its in-camera editing capabilities, and the ability to review footage as thumbnails on the camcorder's LCD screen is a tremendous time-saver.

At the center of the XDCAM system is Sony's blue-laser technology based Professional Disc media, which offers unique benefits in terms of split-second random access to footage in the field or during the post process.
