HDTVs high on holiday shopping list, says AvantGo
By TVTechnology published
Two new surveys from AvantGo indicate that a new HDTV is likely to be a popular item for consumers looking to fill their holiday shopping carts with consumer electronics.
A total of 2100 respondents to the two surveys identified several items, including digital cameras, DVD players, DVD recorders, global positioning (GPS) devices and high-definition televisions (HDTV) as being on their wish lists.
While 63 percent of those surveyed already own three or more televisions, 38 percent are planning to buy a new television in the coming year, with one-quarter planning to purchase an HDTV and 8 percent gearing up for a home theater system.
