The infractions occurred between March 10, 2003 and Sept. 30, 2004, and relate to an alleged failure to recruit for 11 of 51 vacancies as required by commission rules and failure to keep required records. The Emmis Television stations involved are KGMB-TV and KHON-TV, both in Honolulu.
Emmis has 30 days from the release of the Notice of Apparent Liability on Aug 26 to pay or submit a written request seeking a reduction or cancellation of the forfeiture.
