DELEC has introduced a new prototype of its voice-over-IP (VoIP) subscriber unit for its ORATIS digital intercom system.
The unit connects to the ORATIS system via a computer network, addressing via the Internet Protocol (IP). The VoIP module operates on the G.722 standard. It uses data reduction and a data rate of 64Kb/s to transfer audio signals, and control and signal data over the same network line.
