CBS will launch an Internet simulcast of its evening news on Sept. 5, according to CBSnews.com.
The simulcast on the Web would give viewers who are unable to watch the program on TV an alternative to view the newscast live. The network also will make an on-demand version available after the newscast. Both versions will be advertiser supported.
