Japan Today said that trial terrestrial DTV transmissions from both NHK and private broadcasters would begin Wednesday, Aug. 6. The article, Trial terrestrial digital TV broadcasts to begin Wed. said the broadcasts would be in the Kanto and Kinki regions and would be receivable at up to 14 million households in Tokyo and surrounded prefectures. Full digital broadcasting is scheduled to begin in December.
