Summit to address digital television loudness problems
The ATSC will conduct a summit on TV loudness at the University of Southern California main campus July 31.
The summit will examine a number of issues related to ATSC loudness throughout the path to the view, including measuring and setting dialnorm, metadata handling, expected advances and current problems.
Large discrepancies in loudness exist today among programs, commercials and promotions in digital television.
The summit will begin at 9:30 a.m. and conclude at 5 p.m. Cost is $175 per person.
