New York Giants use Chyron Codistrator

The CodiStrator gives operators at Giants Stadium in New York creative graphic choices that bring clarity to live-action strategy analysis.

The New York Giants selected Chyron’s Codistrator to telestrate the plays, patterns and tendencies of the rival team for their pre-game show produced in Giants Stadium.

The CodiStrator delivers live, animated digital telestration that offers editable, resizable animated bullets with numeric increments to help a sportscaster or a news anchorman identify the elements of the action in a specific order of occurrence. This is accomplished through the availability of a large number of animated or static logos, icons and stickers that can be rapidly walked over the live video and/or pasted while online over semi-transparent or solid backgrounds.

The Spotlight feature is user editable and highlights a specific area of detail. The spotlight can also be walked over the live video to follow a point of action. Additionally, animated or static logos can be turned into cursors and can be moved freely anywhere over a live video image.

The CodiStrator allows familiar real-time line drawing, but now adds a shadow effect where a player is highlighted and everything else in the frame is darkened. Analysts can add numbered bullets to a string of wide receivers and pull straight lines with arrows from each bullet to illustrate the action about to take place.

On-air analysts can now switch from lines to numbers to shadows to arrows using five different parameters at once — all while he or she is talking on camera.
