MSTV Videoconference on Channel Election and Repacking Scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 19

The Association for Maximum Service Television (MSTV) and the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) have scheduled a videoconference to explain the FCC's channel election and repacking process.

"The FCC's rules regarding channel election and repacking will require stations to take initial steps starting in November!" warns MSTV in the press release announcing the videoconference. "This is an extremely complex process with significant implications."

The video conference will be held Tuesday Oct. 19, 2004, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. eastern time on satellite transponder SBS-6/10 upper, downlink frequency 11959.2 MHz (horizontal), using digital slot C. Digital receiver settings are: Symbol rate 4.2969 (Mbps); Data Rate 6.5998 {Mbps); and FEC 5/6. The conference will be interactive. Questions should be directed to mailto:mstv@tribune.com. Testing will be conducted Monday, October 18, 2004 from 15:00 to 16:00 EST.
