Connecticut Public Broadcasting Automates with OmniBus

Connecticut Public Television (CPTV) recently installed OmniBus' Colossus playout automation system as part of its new digital facility in Hartford.

"The OmniBus automation system gives us the control we need for our current CPTV channel lineup with the flexibility to modify and expand as necessary," said Jerry Franklin, president and CEO of Connecticut Public Broadcasting.

Colossus, which links video, audio Internet and datastreaming applications, will control one HD channel, CPTV2, CPTV, Kids, a backup channel and a preview channel. The system is designed so that a single operator can monitor channel status and datastreams.

To load schedule information, interfaces are being provided by the Protrack traffic system. Managing secondary automation events such as logo and DVE insert is the Miranda Premaster and Imagestore.
