Canadian Rental House takes delivery of first Fujinon digital cinematography-style HD lenses

Designed for “film” focus pulling applications, Fujinon’s new HAe5x6 SUPER Cine Style HDTV zoom lens is now available at Sim Video, a video equipment rental house headquartered in Toronto, with offices in Vancouver and Los Angeles.

Fujinon’s new HAe5x6 SUPER Cine Style HDTV zoom lens decrease the depth of field so the images look closer to 35mm.

The lenses decrease the depth of field so the images look closer to 35mm. In addition, the lens’ coatings, quality of glass, and optical path are all improved from previous film-style video lenses.

The HAe5x6 features a new optical design that employs a larger barrel diameter and focus rotation of 280 degrees. Large, bright markings for focus and iris are clearly visible from both sides of the lens, and gearing is consistent between lenses and compatible with existing matte boxes and cine-type controls.

The new Fujinon lenses have already been used for production of a children’s series called “Blobheads,” which will be shown on the CBC in Canada, Nickelodeon in the U.K., and Chanel Jeunne in France.
