Canada: This Week's Stanley Cup in HD

After sitting out its entire season last year on strike, the National Hockey League came back with a vengeance this season among U.S.-based teams in all things except one -- regaining any decent size TV audience. But in Canada, hockey remains king and this week marks the playoffs leading to the next Stanley Cup champs. It also marks the first time Canadians will be able to view the entire series live in HD.

CBC play-by-play got underway in prime time on June 5, with the best-of-seven series continuing tonight (June 7) in Raleigh, N.C. The third and fourth games are scheduled for June 10 and June 12 at 8 p.m. (EDT).

This weekend will also mark another first, of sorts: the Edmonton Oilers will host the Stanley Cup finals for the first time in more than 15 years.
