Every so often a new buzzword or trend pops up there is a mad dash to see who can implement the new technology or leverage their assets in the newest fashion. Of late, we have streaming.
Streaming allows content providers to flow mid-quality video point-tomultipoint, cheaply and effectively. HD it's not, but for simple delivery of video information, be it news, weather or simple entertainment, streaming is an effective delivery medium.
The knee-jerk reaction among broadcasters toward other content-delivery mediums is "How will we compete?" But is streaming different? If so, how should broadcasters proceed in the age of streaming media?
