NXP unveils IP set-top box platform with Windows Embedded CE 6.0

NXP Semiconductors demonstrated an HD IP set-top box platform with support for Microsoft Windows Embedded CE 6.0 at the 2007 International CES convention last week.
According to NXP Semiconductors senior vice president and general manager Giel Rutten, the support for Windows Embedded CE 6.0 in the set-top box platform meets the demands of designers who wish to access the latest software environment for their solutions.
With support for the latest Windows Embedded CE software environment, the new NXP IP set-top box platform will help manufacturers to build set-top boxes that enable consumers to interact with TV in a new way, said lya Bukshteyn, director of Windows Embedded marketing for Microsoft's Mobile and Embedded Devices Division.
