Sinclair station WNUV-TV in Baltimore put a dent in the power bills with the Ai four-tube e2v water-cooled ESCIOT-equipped analog/digital transmitter the station installed last spring. The new Ai replaced a five klystron pulsed 240 kW transmitter.
Based on power bills from July 2004 and July 2003, the cost of supplying power to the transmitter was reduced by more than 62 percent for a savings of over $28,000 per month, according to Ai.
