Tutorial on Radio Noise Measurements

Increasing RF noise is a concern for broadcasters and other spectrum users. Sources of noise include everything from electric shavers and vacuum cleaners to computers and other electronic devices. On May 30, 2003 the FCC's Office of Engineering and Technology will present a tutorial Radio Noise Measurement and Related Standards. Professor Akira Sugiura of Tohoku University will discuss measuring receivers, radiated emission measurements and examples of long term noise measurements made in various areas of Japan.

The public is invited to attend the tutorial, which will be held in the Commission Meeting Room (TW-C305) at the FCC, 445 12th Street, S.W., Washington, D.C. It will also be broadcast in Real Audio format at www.fcc.gov/realaudio.
