Experimental Licenses

The FCC's list of experimental applications granted in the period 6/1/04 to 7/1/04 has only one grant falling on frequencies licensed to broadcasters. L3-Communications was granted an experimental license to operate in various bands between 407-1512 MHz for antenna tuning and evaluation at Half Moon Bay, California.

In other grants of interest, General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. was granted experimental licenses to use 5.3, 5.35, 5.8 and 5.85 GHz for "UAV demonstration and testing." The three licenses cover mobile operations in Gila Bend, Sells and Tucson, all in Arizona. Lockheed Martin Corporation received a license to operate under a government contract at up to 14,000 meters maximum altitude at Fort Worth and two rectangles encompassing parts of Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Arizona and California. No frequencies were specified.
