Donaldson to pepper Powell with questions during Chairman’s Breakfast

FCC Chairman Michael Powell will be interviewed by ABC news anchor and radio host Sam Donaldson during the FCC Chairman’s Breakfast at NAB2004 April 20.

"Watching Sam Donaldson match wits with Michael Powell has been one of the convention highlights in recent years," said NAB president and CEO Edward Fritts. "It has been a standing-room-only, no-holds-barred event, and we're expecting nothing less again this year."

A member of the commission since 1997 and sworn in as chairman in 2001, Powell is responsible for overseeing all national security emergency preparedness functions for the commission. He previously served as the chief of staff of the Antitrust Division in the U.S. Department of Justice. Prior to joining the Justice Department, Powell was an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of the law firm of O'Melveny & Myers. He graduated from the Georgetown University Law Center.

The FCC Chairman's Breakfast is part of the 12th annual NAB Business, Law & Regulation Conference. The breakfast starts at 7:30 a.m.
