Japan Adopts Technology to Block DTV Program Duplication

An article in Japan Times said broadcasters in Japan will start blocking "attempts by viewers to illicitly duplicate digital television programs for commercial purposes. The article, NHK, TV Broadcasters to block digital copying said special antiduplication signals will be combined with the conventional digital signals. Viewers will have to insert the B-CAS card they received when they purchased their digital TV set into their sets to watch the program.
