Warner to Release HD DVD Titles After Blu-ray

Maybe adding a bit of insult to injury, albeit not intentionally, is late word this week from Warner Bros. that while it still plans to release its titles in both next-gen formats until late spring of this year, it will delay all its HD DVD packaged content by about three weeks after it releases its identically titled Blu-ray movies.

Warner has earlier indicated it would institute the three-week delay for its newest content, and has now extended that rollout strategy to include its older (catalog) titles, too, according to High-Def Digest.

Among those catalog titles receiving delayed HD DVD releases dates include “Twister” (now May 27) and “Bonnie & Clyde” (now April 15). By June 1, Warner will cease issuing any more HD DVD titles.
