Religious broadcaster selects Sony production switchers

Sony MVS-8000 switchers are helping The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints get their message out

The Sony MVS-8000 switcher, and numerous Sony cameras, provide new digital production capabilities for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, based in Salt Lake City, has included two Sony Electronics MVS-8000 multi-format production switchers as part of two new HD/SD audio and video control rooms.

The studios are used to produce a variety of religious programming, including Music & the Spoken Word Featuring the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, which is broadcast worldwide on more than 2000 radio and television stations.

The two new switchers are used in tandem with a dozen Sony HDC-900 and HDC-950 cameras. The switchers also handle feeds from its production facilities, and enable linear editing, animation creation and live production.
