Harris Corp. recently joined forces with The Associated Press (AP), Sony Electronics and Sundance Digital to demonstrate its Leitch NEXIO server, as a part of an integrated digital news workflow and on-air, play-out management system.
The companies showcased the process in a joint road show across southern California that highlighted the open interoperability of each vendor's products as part of an end-to-end digital news system.

The demonstrations featured the Leitch NEXIO scalable server system for transmission and news environments, NewsFlash and NewsFlash Preditor nonlinear editing systems; Harris Inscriber character generator (CG) solutions; AP's broadcast news production system, ENPS; Sundance Digital's NewsLink for newsroom automation; and Sony's MFS-2000 production switcher.

Tim Thorsteinson, president of Harris Broadcast Communications Division's Leitch Business Unit said the "tour was a chance to meet face-to-face with some of our key customers and demonstrate the practical benefits in an end-to-end newsroom solution."
