                                <p><strong>SAN JOSE, Calif.</strong>—Xilinx is working with its IP and system integrator ecosystem on providing production-ready multimedia streaming endpoint solutions for broadcast and professional A/V applications, the company said.</p><p>These solutions feature Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ EV Multi-Processor (MP) system-on-a-chip (SoC) and Zynq-7000 SoC devices with integrators providing FPGA IP, media framework software and production-ready products. The solutions are available as ready-to-ship or ready-to-customize items, the company said.</p><p>Xilinx Zynq devices offer real-time video processing, support for different professional-grade video codecs, and a reliable high-bandwidth Ethernet transport layer for AV-over-IP. Complete streaming solutions featuring Zynq devices include:</p><ul><li><a href="https://www.adeas.nl/" target="_blank"><u>Adeas</u></a> and <a href="https://www.nexteravideo.com/xilinx-pr" target="_blank"><u>Nextera Video</u></a> IP Cores for vendors wanting to integrate a complete, yet fully customizable SMPTE ST 2110 AV-over-IP system into their own designs. Adeas and Nextera Video provide a fully-integrated hardware/software IP core set for ST 2110, ST 2059, ST 2022-6/8, IPMX, and NMOS (Networked Media Open Specification used for plug-and-play, system-level control of ST 2110 devices).</li><li><a href="https://macnicatech.com/me10-soc/" target="_blank"><u>Macnica Technology</u></a> ME10 SoC for equipment providers wishing to integrate a chip-level or system-on-module (SoM) solution for AV-over-IP. The ME10 SoC is a single-chip, full-stack solution for the AIMS IPMX standard.</li><li><a href="https://www.ospreyvideo.com/talon-encoders" target="_blank"><u>Osprey Video Talon encoders and decoders</u></a>, which are available for OEM adoption and offer varying levels of customization.</li><li><a href="https://xvtec.com/xvc-ultra-encoder/" target="_blank"><u>XVTEC XVC-Ultra Encoder</u></a> delivering real-time, broadcast quality H.264 and H.265 encoding of up to 4K UHD video streaming over IP. It uses the ultra-low-latency mode of the Zynq UltraScale+ EV MPSoC codec, enabling end-to-end latency of less than 40ms.</li></ul><p>The Zynq family provides a single-chip solutions to support the latest standards for interoperability in multimedia streaming, including AIMS IPMX in professional AV and SMPTE ST 2110 in broadcast.</p><p>“Xilinx is excited to work with our integrator ecosystem and bring to market complete solutions supporting an adaptable multimedia pipeline from input to output,” said Ramesh Iyer, senior director of Pro AV, Broadcast and Consumer business at Xilinx. “These new, interoperable solutions are production ready so customers can focus on adding differentiated features and reducing their time to deployment.                                 <p><strong>SAN JOSE, Calif.</strong>—Xilinx has announced that Sony is using its field-programmable gate array (FPGA) and adaptive system-in-chip (SoC) devices for a range of professional AV electronics, including its new XVS-G1 4K live production switcher. </p><p>“Xilinx technology has helped us improve the real-time processing and routing of video and audio in our new XVS-G1 switcher,” said Koichi Yamanaka, senior general manager of the Media Solution Business Division at Sony. “We use Xilinx devices because their architecture gives us flexibility, allowing us to customize and update capabilities to align with the rapidly changing market needs as well as the specific product needs of our customers.”</p><p>The Sony XVS-G1 switcher relies on the Xilinx Virtex UltraScale+ FPGA with High Bandwidth Memory (HBM). The switcher leverages features and capabilities available in prior models and adds cutting-edge technology for enhanced visual processing of live events with up to 24 4K UHD channels, it said.</p><p>The FPGA’s embedded HBM controller and high performance transceivers enable high-speed processing at 4K with wide color gamut (WCG) and high dynamic range (HDR) at low latencies. The XVS-G1 is the first production switcher designed for live sports and event production to be outfitted with Xilinx’ HBM technology, the company said.</p><p>Other Sony products incorporating Xilinx devices include the Venice full-frame digital cinema camera, FX9 full-frame 6K sensor camera, BVM-HX310 31-inch 4K Trimaster HX professional master monitor and the HDC-5500 three 2/3-inch 4K CMOS sensor portable system camera and HDCU-5500 camera control unit.</p><p>More information is available on the Xilinx <a href="https://www.xilinx.com/applications/broadcast.html" target="_blank"><u>website</u></a>. </p>

                                <p><strong>MONTREAL—</strong>Grass Valley, Evertz, Xilinx and Primestream have joined the SRT Alliance, taking the number of members to more than 400, the alliance announced.</p><p>Originally developed by Haivision, SRT (Secure Reliable Transport) is a low-latency video streaming protocol. It makes possible remote and cloud-based high-performance video workflows, overcomes packet loss and adds security with sophisticated encryption, the alliance said.</p><p>“We’re excited to join the SRT Alliance to support SRT as a widely adopted industry standard,” said Neil Maycock, senior vice president Strategic Marketing & Playout at Grass Valley. “SRT is a perfect fit for our strategy at Grass Valley as we continue to innovate and focus on future-proofing our customers’ workflows as they transition from SDI to IP and adopt cloud-based solutions, where latency, security and connectivity are key.” </p><p>Evertz is adding SRT to its “end-to-end” portfolio of broadcast production products, said Jatinder Barmi, company product manager of compression products, adding that the protocol enables “low latency video throughout the broadcaster’s workflow.”</p><p>Xilinx’ director, Business Development, Video Solutions, Sean Gardner said the company will collaborate with the alliance to provide solutions that “will reduce end-to-end latency, increase security and improve the overall QoE for consumers.”</p><p>Calling IP-based stream production workflows “the wave of the future,” Claudio Lisman, president and CEO of Primestream, said the ability to transport high-quality video with low latency in a secure and reliable way is “critical.”</p><p>“That’s why we are happy to be working with the SRT Alliance in its groundbreaking efforts to create an open-source video transport protocol and to introduce SRT solutions like Media IO,” he said.</p><p>More information is available on the SRT Alliance <a href="https://www.srtalliance.org/" target="_blank"><u>website</u></a>.</p>
