IRVINE, Calif.—Wooden Camera has introduced its new Accessory Collection for the Canon EOS C50. The new lineup includes a low-profile, gimbal-ready cage, expanded power solutions, and a robust lens support system for Wooden Camera’s RF Lens Mount Adapters.

“As with other collections for smaller cameras, like the Sony FX2, we focused this release on increasing the buying options for our customers, ensuring the EOS C50 can be rigged properly at any budget,” said Dominick Aiello, Divisional Senior Director of Accessories at Creative Solutions. “We also introduced design updates that make it faster for users to transition between setups and added new accessories that support additional lens configurations.”

Key accessories include:

• Top Plate – A minimal mounting plate that works independently or with other cage components, adding industry-standard mounting points for top handles and additional accessories.
• Cage L-Bracket – A half-cage that protects the EOS C50 while adding mounting points around the body. Includes an integrated dovetail compatible with Ronin RS 3 and RS 4 gimbals, plus a removable HDMI clamp.
• Cage Grip – Enhances camera protection and provides support for dual-hand grip shooting. Maintains access for both native and dummy batteries, with a port opening for a dummy battery cable.
• ARCA Adapter Plate – Adapts the EOS C50 cage to Wooden Camera baseplates and ARCA-style dovetails while maintaining optical height. The upper dovetail is designed for seamless use with DJI RS 3 and RS 4 quick-release risers.
• Carry Handle Bracket – Adds mounting points to the camera’s native carry handle and supports Ultra Handle extensions.
• Lens Adapter Supports – Each mounts to the Top Plate to provide additional support for Wooden Camera’s RF to PL and RF to LPL Lens Adapters.

In addition to the standard Elite and Core systems, users can now choose from focused Half Cage and Full Cage builds:

• Half Cage: Top Plate + Cage L-Bracket
• Full Cage: Top Plate + Cage L-Bracket + Cage Grip
• Core Cage System: Top Plate, Cage L-Bracket, Cage Grip, Top Handle
• Elite Cage System: Top Plate, Cage L-Bracket, Cage Grip, Mini Top Handle, ARCA Adapter Plate, NATO Rail, and LW 15mm Baseplate

IRVINE, Calif.—Wooden Camera has unveiled an Elite Accessory System for the Canon EOS C400, consisting of custom camera accessories designed to provide an intuitive and flexible foundation for various setups.

“We previewed the Canon EOS C400 Elite Accessory System at Cine Gear this past June, and we heard nothing but positive feedback,” said Dominick Aiello, senior director of accessories at Creative Solutions. “We worked hard to develop a really adaptive, modular system that lets users quickly build out their setup with their preferred accessories, and it was great to watch people validate our efforts in a hands-on environment.”

The system was designed to integrate with a wide range of Wooden Camera, Canon and third-party accessories, giving users the flexibility to finetune setups for various camera workflows. The system and à la carte accessories will ship in September, it said.

“This collection lets users increase the number of mounting points and power options well beyond the base camera package,” said Aiello.

The Wooden Camera Core Accessory System for the Canon EOS C400 includes:

• Battery Slide Pro: Available For Gold Mount or V-Mount batteries, provides battery voltage to the camera through a 4-pin XLR connector. Attaches directly to the back of the camera without rods. Internal BPU battery installation and access to the battery compartment allows users to easily hot-swap batteries.
• Base Plate System: Optically centered and intuitively designed, the ARCA Riser Plate and ARCA Base Plate allow users to streamline or build out their rigs.
• Top Plate System: Lightweight, adaptable, modular system consisting of a three-piece Top Plate (center plus two symmetrical left/right plates) and a front-facing Dual Rod Clamp.
• Top Handle Cheese Plate: Ergonomically designed to conform to the EOS C400 handle for maximum comfort, the plate attaches to the camera handle with ¼”-20 screws and provides additional space for accessories.
• NATO Side Rail: Streamlined and secure, the side rail mounts to the Top Plate near the rear of the camera without touching the camera handle.
• Bolt-on Canon EVF Adaptor: Securely attaches the 15mm EOS C400 EVF Adapter directly to the Ultra Handle Front Riser or the front of the 1-inch Ultra Handle Extension when using the Ultra Handle 5-inch Kit.

DALLAS—Wooden Camera is now accepting orders for the newly released Ultra Handle System, a new handle system with multiple 3/8-inch-16 and ¼-inch-20 mounting points, including with 1-, 3- and 5-inch modules as well as Right-Angle Hollywood Handle extension.

The new Ultra Handle is a comprehensive redesign of the company’s Master Handle Collection.

The geometry of this pattern was engineered to provide compatibility with the all industry-standard locating pin depths and positions: 15mm, ARRI-standard 10.44mm and the Wooden Camera and SmallHD standard 11.68mm, the company said.

Sizing options include a 3- and 5-inch kit with extension lengths of 1-, 3- and 5-inch and a right-angle extension. These sit on a 3/8-inch-16 universal upright or front and rear uprights that were designed for the Sony VENICE, it said.

The new handle features a seamless, rounded design and substantial diameter for maximum grip comfort. Each handle comes with Bocote Wood inserts, enabling a surer grip and includes color rights in four different colors (red, blue, green and yellow), allowing users to specify handles for different camera identification.

DALLAS—Wooden Camera has crafted a number of new accessories specifically for the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K. Many of these accessories will be available individually, or as part of a range of accessory kits.

One of the new accessories is the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro Camera Cage. This features an updated design with a C-shaped base for greater stability and support, per Wooden Camera. An array of 3/8-16 and 1/4-20 mounting points run along the top and side of the cage. There are also pass-through slots for improved cable management, engraved markings to indicate the camera’s focal plane and an offset cold shoe mount. Two 3/8-16 mounting points are on the front and a detachable HDMI and USB-C Support Bracket are also available.

To go with the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro Camera Cage, Wooden Camera has created the LW 15mm Baseplate. The baseplate attaches to the bottom of the cage and uses updated directional arrows to indicate the proper direction for loading. It also includes an improved safety release system and two 15mm LW rod openings.

Also new is a Top Handle (3/8-16), which mounts directly to the top of the Cage via a captive 3/8-16 bolt-on mechanism with safety pins. A new Micro Battery Slide Pro is available in both V-Mount and Gold Mount versions.

DALLAS—Wooden Camera is preparing to launch a full range of camera accessories for the Sony FX6, with expected availability in the first quarter of 2021.

Among the accessories that Wooden Camera has developed is a Sony FX6 Top Plate that contours to the shape of the camera body, wraps around the original top handle and features rows of 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 mounting points, as well as ARRI Accessory Mounts. There will also be a Unified Baseplate that features 15mm rod supports and can be attached to standard tripod plates or ARRI standard bridgeplates.

Wooden Camera has also developed power accessories for the Sony FX6, including a Battery Slide Pro with Gold Mount and V-mount options; and 3x D-Tap ports with a digital fuse.

An E-Mount to PL Mount Pro device, meanwhile, is a shimmable adapter for mounting PL lenses onto the FX6 and features a support ring that integrates with the new Top Plate.

Bundle Accessory Kits will be offered in Base, Advanced and Pro versions.

SUNNYVALE, CALIF.—The Vitec Group has added another company to its roster with the acquisition of camera accessory manufacturer Wooden Camera. The Texas-based company will join Teradek, SmallHD, Paralinx and Offhollywood as part of Vitec Groups’ Creative Solutions business unit.

Founded by Ryan and Elizabeth Schorman in 2011, Wooden Camera has supplied products that include the A-box, which is able to convert the 3.5mm audio output on a Red Epic to XLR. Wooden also makes baseplates, matte boxes, power distribution and cages, all from its Dallas facility.
